Today I am going to write about my second earning. This time it is little bit big money 10 pounds. Actually, My Dad bought a HP Wi-Fi printer 2 weeks back. There is a very interesting story behind this printer, this printer is worth £50 and he got it for just £5 using voucher code. This printer has 3 different modes – scan, print and quick forms. I am not going to go into details of these mode. I just used the scanner functionality. This printer is also very portable, I can lift it up and walk around very easily.
Now back to scanning. My Mum and Dad have lots of old photos around 10-15 years old in the box somewhere in house. My Dad wanted to have all of it in the computer and web. He was very lazy to do it, so he asked me if I can do it for him. I asked for the money and he agreed to pay 1 penny for each photo. I put a second condition that if I finish all the photos in a day then he will double the money.
How did I scan the photos? In the start I was bit nervous but later on I find it very easy.
How to scan the photos?
- Connect the printer/scanner to laptop if wireless is not available.
- Switch ON the laptop/computer where you want to scan the photos.
- Switch ON the printer(scanner)
- Open the lid and put the photos on the glass. Make sure the photos are straight and facing the glass side. Also make sure that it doesn’t go out of the glass border.
- Close the lid
- Press the scan button and wait for the status to change to “Scanned Successfully”.
- In my laptop, the photos goes to “My Documents”. Open the photo and make sure it is within border.
You may get error message sometime then you will need
- Make sure that laptop/computer is switched ON.
- Make sure the scanner/printer is connected to laptop through cable or wireless .
My hands especially fingers are aching now!!! But it is worth it.
I have scanned 2/3 photos in each turn, so the image file contains 2/3 photos. My next job is to do the photo shop work. I will need to create a separate file for each photos. It is lot of work. I am thinking about how much I should charge my dad for this job. Please let me know if you have any suggestion/comment.
