My Trip to Bruce Castle
Posted By yash on November 21st, 2013, 8:14 pm GMT |

Today I woke up very early at around 6 in the morning. I was very excited because we were going to Bruce castle museum. It was an educational tour to learn the history of Haringey.

Bruce Castle was opened as a museum in 1906. It has a local history collections related to borough of Haringey, North London.

I went to school as usual, and finished our assembly session, then took the bus to Bruce Castle. We reached there in 20 mins. My mum volunteered for the trip. Two class of year 4 went on the trip. Once we reached Bruce castle, my class went to the room where old historical things were kept, and the other group went to the lecture room.

In the room, we saw the very old age things like motorbikes, type writer, piece of German bomb, pictures etc. There was a dress up costume, so i put on a hat and I held a walking stick which was fancy. I tried everything in the room then I went in a room with some knife made from Roman era. There was a room of old age hair combs and a room with gadgets we can actually even work right now. I had lunch of fruit and cheese-onion sandwich.  After our lunch we went outside in the park to play, I climbed on a kind of a rope climbing thing and the big roundabout was stuffed with people then we swapped over, our class went to the lecture room and the other was looking at the things.

Altogether it was a fun and learning day. But it was very cold and windy.

Minotaurus – Lego Board game
Posted By yash on November 17th, 2013, 12:41 am GMT |

I play this Lego Minotaurus board game with my mom and my younger brother. I love this game. 4 people can play this game at same time because of its four corners. Building walls to block my opponent and customizing the dice are my favourite things in this game.

Description:

The Minotaur protects a Secret Temple inside a Labyrinth. Be the first to lead your men to the Temple while avoiding the Minotaur, which can be used by players to attack their opponents and knock them out of the maze. You can cleverly place walls to block your opponents and reshape the maze during play.

Clear and simple rules make this game playable for all ages from 5-6 and up. A primarily child’s game, but also fun for adults, particularly when played with their kids. Built from LEGO, the maze can be rebuilt to your own design or enlarged if you have pieces of your own. You are also invited to try some of the alternate change rules and design your own rule variants.

With the new LEGO games you can alter the layout of the board and change or adapt the rules to your liking. The LEGO Dice can also be customized using its removable die faces.

My Second Earning–Scanned 500 photos in 4 hours
Posted By yash on May 10th, 2013, 7:55 pm GMT |

Today I am going to write about my second earning. This time it is little bit big money 10 pounds. Actually, My Dad bought a HP Wi-Fi printer 2 weeks back. There is a very interesting story behind this printer, this printer is worth £50 and he got it for just £5 using voucher code. This printer has 3 different modes – scan, print and quick forms. I am not going to go into details of these mode. I just used the scanner functionality. This printer is also very portable, I can lift it up and walk around very easily.

Now back to scanning. My Mum and Dad have lots of old photos around 10-15 years old in the box somewhere in house. My Dad wanted to have all of it in the computer and web. He was very lazy to do it, so he asked me if I can do it for him. I asked for the money and he agreed to pay 1 penny for each photo. I put a second condition that if I finish all the photos in a day then he will double the money.

How did I scan the photos? In the start I was bit nervous but later on I find it very easy.

How to scan the photos?

  1. Connect the printer/scanner to laptop if wireless is not available.
  2. Switch ON the laptop/computer where you want to scan the photos.
  3. Switch ON the printer(scanner)
  4. Open the lid and put the photos on the glass. Make sure the photos are straight and facing the glass side. Also make sure that it doesn’t go out of the glass border.
  5. Close the lid
  6. Press the scan button and wait for the status to change to “Scanned Successfully”.
  7. In my laptop, the photos goes to “My Documents”. Open the photo and make sure it is within border.

You may get error message sometime then you will need

  1. Make sure that laptop/computer is switched ON.
  2. Make sure the scanner/printer is connected to laptop through cable or wireless .

My hands especially fingers are aching now!!! But it is worth it. Smile

I have scanned 2/3 photos in each turn, so the image file contains 2/3 photos. My next job is to do the photo shop work. I will need to create a separate file for each photos. It is lot of work. I am thinking about how much I should charge my dad for this job. Please let me know if you have any suggestion/comment.
