The Big Star – He could not shine
Posted By yash on December 6th, 2010, 8:53 pm GMT |

Today I learnt a new song – The Big star. It is about a big star who stopped shining

Once upon a time there was a star who stopped shining. This star had been the biggest, brightest star in the whole sky, but one night, when he tried to sparkle, nothing happened. He tried and tried and he tried again, but the big star could not shine.

The big star tried with all his might,
He huffed and puffed into the night,
But though he was big, whatever he did,
He could not shine.

The big star puffed out his chest,
He really did try his best,
But though he was big, whatever he did,
He could not shine.

The big star jumped up and down,
He clapped his hands and turned around,
But though he was big, whatever he did,
He could not shine,

The big star tried with all his might,
he huffed and puffed into the night,
But though he was big, whatever he did,
He could not shine,

The Gingerbread Man
Posted By yash on December 2nd, 2010, 7:31 pm GMT |

Today I got “The Gingerbread Man” book from school. It was really fun reading this week.

The Gingerbread Man Story

Once upon a time, a little old woman and a little old man lived by themselves in a little old house by the side of a road.

One day, the little old woman decided to make a special treat. “I will make a gingerbread man,” she said.

So, the little old woman made a gingerbread man and put him in the oven to bake. But before long, she heard a tiny voice calling, “Let me out! Let me out!”

The little old woman went to the oven to listen. Then she opened the oven door.

The gingerbread man jumped right out! He skipped across the kitchen and ran straight outside.

The little gingerbread man was on his way down the road before the little old woman and the little old man were out of the house. They couldn’t run nearly as fast ash he could.

“Stop! We want to eat you. Stop, little gingerbread man!” they cried, quite out of breath.

But the gingerbread man just sang,

“Run , run as fast as you can,

You can’t catch me,

I’m the gingerbread man!”

Soon the gingerbread man met a cow. “Stop, little man!” mooed the cow. “You look very good to eat!”

But the gingerbread man just ran faster. And he sang.

“Run , run as fast as you can,

You can’t catch me,

I’m the gingerbread man!”

Farther down the road, the gingerbread man met a house, “Stop, little man!” said the horse. “You look very good to eat, and I’m hungry!”

But the gingerbread man just ran faster. The horse galloped and galloped as fast as he could, but he wasn’t fast enough to catch the gingerbread man.

“I have run away from a little old woman, a little old man, and a cow,” cried the gingerbread man. And he sang as he ran,

“Run , run as fast as you can,

You can’t catch me,

I’m the gingerbread man!”

The little gingerbread man ran on and on , going faster and faster. He was very proud of his running, and quite pleased with himself.

At last he met a sly old fox. “Stop! Stop, little man,” said the fox, grinning and licking his lips. “I want to talk to you.”

But the gingerbread man didn’t stop to listen. He just sang,

“Run , run as fast as you can,

You can’t catch me,

I’m the gingerbread man!”

The cunning old fox could run very fast indeed, and he ran after the gingerbread man. He followed him all the way down the path through the forest.

Before too long they came to a river. The gingerbread man didn’t know what to do.

The cunning old fox wasn’t far away. “I’ll help you",” he said, smiling to himself.  “If you jump onto my tail, I will take you across . You will be quite safe and dry.”

So the little gingerbread man jumped onto the fox’s tail and the fox began to swim across the river.

Very soon the fox said, “ You are too heavy for my tail. Jump onto my back.”

The little gingerbread man jumped onto the fox’s back.

Very soon the fox said, “Little gingerbread man, you are too heavy for my back. Why don’t you jump onto my nose.

And the little gingerbread man jumped onto the fox’s nose.

Finally they reached the other side of the river. The fox threw back his head and tossed the gingerbread man high in the air.

Then down fell the gingerbread man, and snap! went the old fox.

And that was the end of the little gingerbread man.

THE END

Posted By yash on February 12th, 2010, 5:16 pm GMT |

I am five today, also it’s my parents wedding anniversary and this year it’s also MahaShivratri today…hurray! I went to school with birthday boy batch on my shirt, just to get that extra attention and it worked, everyone was wishing me Happy Birthday. I have 30 students in my class and for all of them I (well, my mom did) made 30 bags, each bag containing a orange, haribo packet and a spinner toy. Everyone was so happy in the class and they all sang “Happy Birthday to me”.

It was last day at school, second term holiday begins from today and school reopens on 22nd February…..great!

Face Painting and Book of the week
Posted By yash on January 22nd, 2010, 6:58 pm GMT |

School was fun today, we had face painting session. My teacher Stacey asked me what I want on my face. I choose my favourite “Ben 10”, and look I am looking so smart with it. Some of my friends choose to be Spiderman web, Batman, Pirate look and girls got butterflies, fairies on their faces.

Every week on Friday we get a book to take home for reading, this Friday i got book “Find out about electricity” by Terry Jennings for a week. It tells me all about electricity.

Here’s the index of the book:

1. How does a torch work?
2. How does a battery work?
3. What is an electrical circuit?
4. What do we use electricity for?
5. How does electricity give us light?
6. How does electricity give us heat?
7. How is electricity made?
8. How does electricity get to our homes?
9. Can we get electricity from the wind?
10. Why should we save electricity?

I love Fridays because it’s followed by a great and fun weekend. Let’s see what I get to do on this weekend?

A look at book

What is moon made of?
Posted By yash on January 14th, 2010, 7:48 pm GMT |

Something popped into my head this morning when I was getting ready for my school and as usual I ran to my mom to clear it…what is moon made of I asked? She gave me a strange look and then a laugh. Now before she could answer me I helped myself and said “I know moon is made of rocks”.

Mom said I am very sweet and cute and she asked me from where I get all these questions into my little head.

Give me some sunshine…
Posted By yash on January 12th, 2010, 5:08 pm GMT |

After a long snowy holiday almost a week, today was my first day to school. It was very difficult to walk on the road as all the snow is turned into ice and have made things worst. While trying to walk and balance myself at same time, I asked my mummy why didn’t the snow melt away, that’s when I got to learn something new. She explained me about the -10c temperature role and more. I only understood word minus, So Minus temp has not let the snow melt away…huh!

In school I had fun, did some painting and some reading-writing.    Though our school playground was all covered with ice, we still had fun on it. I had pasta in my lunchbox today, but mummy was angry not because I did not finish my pasta, because I lost the fork…ha ha!

Today I have got a new book(Arthur’s Fantastic Party) from school for reading. I will read the book with my Dad in few days times and then let you know about it.

Mummy said it’s going to snow again tonight. Now let’s see if I can go school tomorrow or sit at home again. I hate sitting at home!

Snore! – A noisy night for dozy dog
Posted By yash on January 5th, 2010, 7:44 pm GMT |

“Snore! – A noisy night for dozy dog” is my first book which I have started to read. I read this book with the help of my Daddy. I can read almost the whole book except few difficult words like quiet, trotted, peaceful, Rooster etc.  The book is written by Michael Rosen and illustrated by Jonathan Langley.

Here is the content of my first book.

All was quiet on the farm.

Dog was asleep. Cat was asleep. Cow was asleep. Sheep was asleep. Pig was asleep, and so were all the Piglets.

It was all so peaceful – till.. Dog snore!! , and Cat woke up. Cow woke up. Sheep woke up. Pig woke up, and so did all the Piglets.

It was so loud no one could sleep, not Cat, or Cow, or Sheep, or Pig, nor all the Piglets.

How can we get Dog to stop snoring so we can all get back to sleep? said Cat.

I know, said Cow – and Cow went up to Dog and went ATTISSHOOO right down his ear.

I know, said Sheep – and Sheep went up to Dog and went BOO  right down his ear.

I know, said Pig – and Pig went up to Dog and went HEE HEE right down his ear, and all the Piglets went HEE HEE HEE HEE.

I know, said Cat, why don’t we sing to him?

Maybe that’ll stop him snoring and we can all go back to sleep.

So Cat went PURRRR.  And Cow went MOOO.  And Sheep went BAAA. And Pig went OINK and all the Piglets went GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT GRUNT.

Then as the sun rose over the trees, Rooster woke up with a COCK-A-DOODLE-DOOOOO, and Dog woke up with a HERUMPH???

And off he trotted down the road after his good night’s sleep.

But Cat and Cow and Sheep and Pig and all the Piglets went so tired… they fell asleep.
